Here is an example of the corporate corruption taking place behind Common Core.
According to the Washington Post, Pearson Charitable Foundation, the nonprofit arm of educational publishing giant Pearson, UN business partner (search under other organisations), "...created Common Core products to generate “tens of millions of dollars” for its corporate sister."
Not only is the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a UN NGO, a major contributor to the Common Core Standards but "...announced in 2011 that it would work with the Pearson Foundation to create reading and math courses aligned with the new standards." "...the Pearson Foundation sold the courses to its corporate sister for $15.1 million." The law states, "...non-profit foundations cannot misuse charitable assets to benefit their affiliated for-profit corporations." The foundation paid out $7.7 million dollars in the settlement.
Posted in 11/24/13 Tom Luna and the National Governor's Association, another form of corruption surrounding Common Core.
An article came out by the In the Public Interest website that cites, "Corporate Interests Pay to Play to Shape Education Policy, Reap profits" Apparently state superintendents are jumping into bed with corporations to create policies that financially benefit the corporations, shocker. Although Idaho was not listed in the article it makes one wonder whether or not Tom Luna has or will engage in the same. It was noted above that he met with Jeb Bush this month, perhaps to work out a deal for the Bush founded, UN NGO funded, Foundation for Education Excellence. What makes it impossible for Tom Luna to see the light?
