Kootenai County Comprehensive Plan
One of the most egregious examples of Agenda 21 is occurring in Kootenai County, Idaho. Without notifying citizens Kootenai County adopted a "comprehensive plan" in 2010 to revise its land use codes called the Kootenai County Unified Land Use Code (ULUC) First flag, comprehensive plan, Agenda 21 language. Not easily deterred citizens have gathered to reject these Agenda 21 goals of taking property rights away. A few highlights are the involvement of Kootenai Environmental Alliance (KEA) in the creation of the ULUC (and not land owners), restriction of human activity in the environment, impact fees, growth limitations on private property, restrictions of activity near water (riparian nonsense), requirements of certification, registration, licensure, and qualified design professional costs onto property owners, enforcing regulations by Federal, State or Regional agencies into local land use law, and regulations to limit growth based on what might happen in the future. The New American describes the ULUC problem further. The ULUC plan is nothing more than Agenda 21 to restrict access to land, restricting property rights, and an attempt to remove us from rural areas to cities. Here are a few examples of first person accounts by the Northwest Property Owners Alliance. Be on the alert for this type of "comprehensive plan" coming your way in the future.

Forests A prominent goal of Agenda 21 is to ban all use and access to forests. There are a variety of ways forests are being regulated to restrict access and use.
First are the roadless rules. Roadless rules ban the use of back roads in forests. This includes old logging and mining roads, old forest service roads, and banned use of all vehicles. Here is the Idaho Roadless Final Rule and an Idaho map that shows the roadless areas. Travel management plans are also attempts to ban further use of our forests. Here is a summary for the Payette Forest Travel Management Plan. Second, the USFS is looking at a "conservation strategy" in the Payette National Forest that will protect all the wildlife in forests. If all wildlife is protected that means humans will not be able to access forests because of the disturbance created for the wildlife. Here is the USFS service schedule of proposed actions for Idaho and forest plan amendments. Third, we have the Forest Stewardship Council, UN NGO. It is a bogus UN certification program which Boise Cascade, Potlatch, and some others have joined. The scam? Logs taken out of Idaho forests are from "sustainable" forests and somehow magically cared for better than by our own Idaho loggers. The high cost of this program in turn raises the price of lumber which isn't any different than other lumber. But what it does do is put the private Idaho logger out of business due to the cost of the program and puts the UN in charge of defining how Idaho forests are cared for. Fourth, Riparian Corridors. The USFS regulations contain requirements for the protection of water that runs through forests. There are restrictions on how close you can get to the water. Pages 6, 7, 11-13 of the Idaho Forest Practices Act list the requirements of how close you can get to water. Here are videos explaining this problem further. Here is a list of wilderness NGOs, many belonging to the UN. Search legislation and policy in the first box, then F and it will bring up federal government agencies they work with, implementing Agenda 21 goals. One final note. The USFW has joined with the UN for an International Day of Forests. The UN endorses sustainable forest management even referencing Agenda 21, Chapter 11. Forest land can be taken by executive order declaring it a "heritage site, national monument or biosphere reserve". Support the American Lands Council in the fight to control our own land in Idaho and remove Agenda 21 control of our forests. Hooray for Americans fighting back. |
